From a love of anime to creating surreal works that tear apart traditional comics, his imaginative world might just overturn everyone’s expectations and perceptions of manga — the emerging Japanese artist Momoe (ももえ).
At just 21 years old, Momoe is currently a university student majoring in graphic design. With her groundbreaking creativity, she once won the jury’s Mr. Award at the art expo GEISAI #22 organized by Takashi Murakami, truly a prodigy in her field.
His work is also quite eye-catching; it’s either disassembling the faces of cute anime girls and stitching them together with yarn, or adding a rusted texture and nuances to the features, or even creating a sense of glitch or melting… These different materials make each piece appear very bizarre, even creating a strong visual contrast for these two-dimensional characters.
