The Lunar New Year, wearing new clothes symbolizes “getting rid of the old to welcome the new,” marking a fresh start. Major fashion brands also embrace local customs, launching special designs for the Lunar New Year. Miu Miu has introduced a brand-new collection, dressing up several popular bags and shoes, while presenting a short film “Meeting as Scheduled” to celebrate the Lunar New Year!
Miu Miu presents the short film “A Date with Destiny,” directed by renowned screenwriter and filmmaker Wai Shuk Kwan, featuring Miu Miu brand ambassadors Liu Haocun and Zhao Jinmai. The two leading ladies find themselves in a Cantonese teahouse in Beijing, enjoying a performance by a trio, when suddenly the musicians and other diners vanish without a trace. The charming duo, dressed in Miu Miu’s new collection, continue the brand’s recent nostalgic trend, dancing and singing freely in the spacious establishment, immersed in a surreal and ethereal dream, in tribute to the Year of the Snake.
A brand new collection perfectly captures the festive spirit, featuring relaxed sweaters, fitted outerwear, collegiate-style tweed and plaid pieces, embellished denim jackets, and cotton chiffon shirts, paired with classic ballet flats, loafers, mid-heel strap shoes, and Plume sneakers; the New Balance X Miu Miu sneakers are launched in a fresh silver tone. Additionally, there are glamorous opera gloves and exquisite pearl necklaces, along with accessories like baseball caps and rose-tinted sunglasses.
The limited edition Penny bag, Wander bag, and Arcadie bag are the stars of the collection, with the Wander bag dressed in a lucky red; the Beau bag features a playful bag charm of a crochet serpent and a Chinese knot.
