In early summer, Lee Tung Street will host Coffee凡Weekend Brewtopia over two weekends (June 28-29 and July 5-6), attracting more than 25 coffee brands from Hong Kong and Taiwan. The event centers around Rich Coffee, Green Living, Urban Slow Life, allowing coffee lovers to savor delicious brews in a laid-back atmosphere while experiencing a unique cultural feast. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned connoisseur, you’ll discover fresh coffee flavors and appreciate the baristas’ exceptional skills.
One of the highlights of this market is Seypin.xunpin Coffee, managed by Huang Youcheng, the world roasting runner-up from Taiwan, making its debut in Hong Kong. In addition, award-winning Taiwanese coffee brands like Zhuowushan Coffee Farm and brewing champion Wang Ce from VWI By CHADWANG will showcase and share their brewing secrets on-site. Various distinctive coffee shops from northern, central, and southern Taiwan, such as NongZhai Coffee and Phase Coffee, will bring Taiwan’s flavorful coffee to Hong Kong, offering coffee enthusiasts uniquely crafted beverage options.
During the event, in addition to savoring exquisite coffees from multiple countries, Li Tung Street has set up an impressive nearly 3-meter-tall giant coffee bear as an Instagram hotspot, attracting numerous locals and tourists to snap photos. This camo-style coffee bear, holding a coffee cup, has become the new must-visit location on Li Tung Street.
Additionally, the event strongly supports green living by inviting Greenpeace to set up a booth and providing Reusable Cup Borrowing and Return Program. Citizens are encouraged to bring their own reusable cups to enjoy complimentary specialty coffee at select stalls. This arrangement not only promotes a low-carbon lifestyle but also allows everyone to contribute to environmental protection while savoring delicious flavors.
In addition to the coffee tasting experience, Coffee凡Weekend Brewtopia has organized a variety of workshops and sharing sessions. You can participate in the coffee tasting workshop hosted by My Little Coffee, where you can learn firsthand how to choose coffee beans, brewing techniques, and tasting skills. Alternatively, you can join the coffee cupping experience workshop to understand how baristas evaluate coffee quality based on aroma, acidity, and other factors.
In addition, the founder of the popular Taiwanese coffee platform VV CAFÉ, Chen Guanzhe, will share his skills in hand-brewed coffee, revealing how to control water temperature and timing to bring out the natural sweetness of the coffee. He will also introduce the diverse characteristics of Taiwanese coffee. Meanwhile, Adi and Mumu from AD Café will showcase essential techniques for summer iced hand brewing, guiding everyone on how to make refreshing and aromatic iced coffee.
