Following the groundbreaking haute couture collection that shocked the global fashion scene last year, the two legendary French fashion brands Maison Margiela and Christian Louboutin have once again joined forces in March to launch their first complete collaborative footwear collection. The seven new shoe styles cleverly blend John Galliano’s avant-garde aesthetics with Christian Louboutin’s exquisite craftsmanship, promising to deliver the most anticipated luxury crossover interpretation in 2025.

This collection reinterprets classics with elegance, incorporating Margiela’s iconic Tabi split-toe design into Louboutin’s delicate craftsmanship. The three shoe styles feature innovative patchwork techniques, diverging from traditional split-toe cutting methods by seamlessly joining two independent materials, creating a heart-shaped silhouette as graceful as a woman’s collarbone, perfectly embodying the design concept of “unconscious charm.”
Among them, the highly anticipated Bridiela Una Strass high heels feature a silver mesh base, complemented by Louboutin’s proud handcrafted crystal embellishment technique. Paired with classic 100mm heels, the wedding shoe design is elevated to an artistic level. Each crystal’s position is meticulously calculated, shining brilliantly under the light, perfectly echoing the luxurious elements of the 2024 Artisanal Haute Couture collection.

Loubiella ankle wrap shoes draw inspiration from Christian Louboutin’s classic Rosalie style, featuring an asymmetrical design that accentuates the ankle line, creating elegant and sexy silhouettes. Available in two styles—black patent leather and matte light gold textured leather—these shoes resonate with the vintage nostalgia theme of the haute couture collection, showcasing a unique sense of fashion.

The Marlougiela flats perfectly showcase the craftsmanship essence of both brands, offering a variety of materials and color options, from classic black patent leather to deep red versions, as well as crystal-embellished black, blush, and silver mesh styles. Each pair expresses its own unique charm, catering to different occasions.

This collection perfectly showcases Margiela’s signature deconstructive aesthetics, cleverly reshaping Louboutin’s classic shoe designs. Each of the three footwear styles retains the iconic red sole, continuing the Maison Margiela workshop’s spirit of exploration in haute couture craftsmanship. The series centers around the brand’s renowned “deconstructed concept” (decortiqué), revealing the beauty of internal structures by peeling away the outer layers, creating an unprecedented visual impact.
Bilougiela 25 is boldly constructed on the classic Christian Louboutin Kate Max shoe last, featuring areas of black patent leather intentionally stripped away to reveal the beauty of the shoe’s architecture. The specially designed deconstructed heel perfectly echoes the exposed structure, creating a unique visual dimension while infusing new vitality into a classic silhouette.

Martinloula has cut the leather into cascading strips that wrap around the shoe, paired with uniquely curved heels inspired by haute couture, perfectly embodying the creative fusion of the two design masters. Each dangling leather strip is meticulously calculated to create a unique rhythm when walking.

The most surprising thing is the Martoubi 25, which features a white leather upper paired with what appears to be a casually applied yet meticulously designed red heel smudge, paying homage to Margiela’s famous “bianchetto” white paint technique. This unique treatment not only echoes Louboutin’s iconic red sole but also creates an artistic sense of the beauty of temporal traces.

The first collaboration shoe collection between Maison Margiela and Christian Louboutin will be released at select stores worldwide and on the official websites of both brands, showcasing the perfect combination of luxury craftsmanship and avant-garde design, bringing the most anticipated shoe collection of 2025.
