Mika Ninagawa, the renowned Japanese photographer and director known for her flower-inspired works, has held the largest immersive exhibition in Kansai titled “Light on the Other Side, Shadow on This Side.” Through her unique visual language, she collaborated with a creative team called EiM, consisting of experts from various fields, to create a series of stunning works that immerse the audience in a surreal sea of flowers.
Mikako Nishikawa skillfully utilizes light and imagery to create stunning visual effects, making each flower appear to breathe and dance. Having served as an international tourism ambassador for Kyoto, she drew inspiration from the streets of Kyoto and collaborated with the creative team EiM to develop a “scroll experience” exhibition featuring 10 stories.

From vibrant colors to intricate details, it seems to tell stories about concepts like “fiction and reality,” “here and there,” and “light and shadow,” blending her unique perception of everyday scenes with profound introspection. Not only does it showcase the artistic charm of Miwa Yanagi, but it also perfectly merges the beauty of nature with technological innovation, challenging the boundaries of traditional art.
In this feast of visuals and emotions, every step is a cleansing of the soul. Let the sea of flowers take you on a journey of dreams!
